Himma Association held its fifth annual ceremony for graduating Syrian university students on 06-09-2024 at the Zubeyde Hanım Cultural Hall in Istanbul, where 122 students from various Turkish universities were honored. These graduates benefited from numerous programs, projects, and branches of the association throughout their years of study.

The ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including the head of the Tarahum Volunteer Team affiliated with the International Islamic Charity Organization in Kuwait, Mr. Nasser Al-Bassam, the head of the Turkey office of Al-Rahma International Association in Kuwait, Mr. Jamal Al-Razi, as well as the renowned singer Rakan Jabr. Representatives from various institutions, associations, and sponsoring companies were also present. The ceremony included the distribution of honorary shields to all graduates, in addition to honoring the top-performing students who achieved the highest ranks in their universities and faculties across various fields. Students who met the volunteer criteria were also recognized with the “Volunteer Shield” awarded by Himma Association.

In his speech during the ceremony, the director of the association, Engineer Ammar Al-Suwadi, emphasized the importance of the university stage in improving the lives of Syrian refugees in Turkey, stressing the role of graduates in helping their fellow students continue their educational journey, as God has facilitated their path through the support of the association and their own efforts.

The ceremony also highlighted the association’s future vision of continuing its support for university students through various programs, such as the “Student Pioneer Program,” the “Wamahyaya Program” for female students, Himma Association’s student housing, the “Himma Club for Female Students,” and the “Himma Student Teams.” Special attention was given to the “Al-Khair Scholarship,” which helped students complete their university education, along with skills and leadership development programs aimed at preparing students for the labor market.

The event saw great interaction from the students with the segments presented, as some outstanding students shared their experiences and success stories, along with their contributions to charitable and community service activities. The segments also included various competitions and interactive questions.

The ceremony concluded with group photos, souvenir gifts, and the recognition of participating guests, partner institutions, and sponsoring companies.

It is worth noting that the association continues its efforts to support graduates by providing job opportunities and practical training. The association also calls on commercial companies and institutions to enhance their partnerships with Himma by sponsoring students and offering the necessary practical training to help them build a sustainable future.
